In 2024, I was honoured to be selected as a finalist for the Trophées des Français de l’ASEAN, in recognition of my artistic journey and creative contribution while living in Asia.

This nomination touched me deeply. It acknowledged not only my work as an artist, but also the path that led me here — navigating doubt, starting again, and slowly building a voice through abstraction.

France Gaggioli, Artist (Singapore)

Since arriving in Singapore, France Gaggioli has transformed her artistic journey, drawing inspiration from the energy and cultural diversity of the city. Fascinated by this dynamic metropolis, she finds new themes to explore and integrates multicultural elements and universal concerns, such as ecology, into her works. Singapore has become a place of artistic growth for her, where she draws inspiration both from her French roots and the local influences, creating a subtle dialogue between her origins and this multicultural environment. “Singapore taught me to embrace the unknown and see beauty in the unexpected,” explains the artist, who has “always been fascinated by how art can transcend borders.”

France passionately integrates herself into the local art scene, participating in numerous exhibitions and collaborations. Working with renowned galleries such as Intersections Gallery and Fiidaa Art, she showcases her works to a diverse audience, strengthening her network and connections within Singapore’s artistic community. She also launched her own project, Art and Abode, blending art and interior design with a minimalist approach, advocating the idea of “Less is More.” According to her, “Art should not stay in a gallery—it should be present, tangible, and should touch people in their homes.” This initiative allows her to promote her works to a broader audience while encouraging artistic collaborations.

Sensitive to ecological issues, France uses her art to raise public awareness of environmental concerns. Her Elemental series embodies this approach, exploring the delicate relationship between humanity and nature while addressing sustainability and environmental preservation. Through her creations, she hopes to spark reflections on the fragility of our planet and inspire collective consciousness. The artist says she is proud “to offer a unique vision and contribute, through her work, to a message of responsibility and respect toward nature.” France aspires to continue this creative adventure and aims to inspire other artists to express their worldviews through profound messages.
